Marathon Technologies Launches Industry’s First System-Level Fault-Tolerant Software for Virtual Environments.

The two new products are everRun VM Lockstep for Citrix XenServer and everRun 2G. Continuous Availability is now deliverable to a single multi application virtualised environment.

The new products both bring effective, simple to manage fault-tolerant computing to the mainstream at low cost. 

everRun VM Lockstep for Citrix XenServer is the industry’s first system-level fault-tolerant software-only solution for virtual environments. This means that for the first time you will be able to run mission critical applications which need zero downtime and zero data loss on virtual servers, so you can benefit from the cost savings associated without the need for special hardware.   everRun2G is Marathon’s next generation availability software platform developed to combine and extend the capabilities of their successful everRun HA and everRun FT products.

Any windows 32 or 64 bit applications can now be delivered with level 2 protection , tolerating component level failure without interruption to the end user or by deploying lockstep technology the higher level 3 protection can be achieved which will tolerate a complete server failure with again no service interruption.  A mixture of level 2 and level 3 protection can be deployed on the same server pair, depending on your individual application needs.

By protecting your data by mirroring the servers, Marathon everRun also delivers a higher level of resilience than VMware or any other replication/failover product in the x86 server market place.
