The Challenge - The company needed to support a number of nationally and internationally based users from remote offices, as well as roaming users attending conferences. The remote office located in South Africa could not get a reliable connection to the UK based head office and had implemented a locally based server. This was causing issues for support and did not allow the remote offices and users to collaborate effectively.
The Solution - EACS implemented a Citrix XenDesktop based solution with Citrix Access Gateway Enterprise Edition for remote access and Citrix Branch Repeater with Microsoft Windows 2008 Server for WAN acceleration and optimisation. This has allowed users to work effectively from any location using Virtual Desktops and Applications from the UK based datacentre.
