  • Two years ago, the prospect of moving all of our data and services into the cloud was a huge change from our traditional on-premise servers, data and applications and at that time seemed a revolutionary step to take. However, the expertise and guidance provided by eacs to implement this new strategy meant that within a few months we had adopted a fully secure cloud-based Office 365 solution, with Windows 10 on every device, cloud-to-cloud backups and could switch off and remove legacy on-premise equipment. Today, in the midst of the global COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, that brave step in 2018 has allowed us to instantly disperse all our staff to their homes, close our office sites, and continue to serve our world-wide membership without a break in service. With 30+ users all working from remote locations, SharePoint allows us to store our documents and collaborate on content, Microsoft Teams keeps us connected to each other as a business, and to our members through videoconferencing, calls and online chat. Because we have had to temporarily cease face to face training delivery, we are now using Teams to deliver remote, instructor-led training to students in remote locations, with full interaction – essentially creating a live, virtual classroom. Behind all of this is the Office 365 platform and suite of applications that seamlessly brings everything together. We can’t be everywhere in the world right now, but the solution that eacs designed for us means that we can continue to communicate with, meet with, and support our 1200+ member companies in 70+ countries. Just as importantly, it means we can keep the LEEA team together in a virtual space and support our employees during these challenging times.
