(formerly Link: IT Solutions)
Managed services provider eacs’ continued commitment to Delivering Excellence has been rewarded having achieved supplier status on the newly launched NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) ‘Digital Workplace Solutions’ (formerly Link: IT Solutions) framework - one of only 28 who achieved the high standards and required grade following a thorough and vigorous vetting process.
NHS SBS’ Digital Workplace Solutions framework forms part of the Health Infrastructure Plan announced in 2019, designed to deliver a long term, five-year programme of investment in health infrastructure. Forming an integral part of the government’s NHS Long Term Plan, it is a key pillar of the government’s plan to deliver modernisation of the health sector as well as improvements in the quality of patient care and health outcomes. Phil Davies, Director of Procurement at NHS Shared Business Services commented “NHS Shared Business Services manages an extensive portfolio of framework agreements, providing public sector organisations with an easy to access and compliant route to the goods and services they need, whilst driving savings and improving efficiency. eacs met or exceeded our requirements across 21 key procurement criteria including pricing, quality of service, conflict resolution, and value-add services.”
Central to the Framework is that it will enable eacs and others to supply IT solutions which include network connectivity, servers, storage, software and hardware to the NHS and the whole of the UK Public Sector and their associated bodies and agencies in a more efficient and effective manner. This will encompass over 220 NHS Trusts, including over 1,250 hospitals as well as being open to local authorities, universities, the justice system and others, enabling them to award contracts directly to suppliers from the Framework safe in the knowledge that they have been fully vetted and approved potentially saving them considerable time and expenditure from their already stretched procurement budgets. eacs has a long history of supplying innovative, practical solutions and services to a variety of public agencies having been long term suppliers on the highly thought of Crown Commercial Services G-Cloud program.
Kevin Timms, Chairman and CEO, stated: “After all the fantastic work the NHS and some other public departments have been doing throughout the recent crisis, it is great that we are able to give something back in some way. We have always been a firm believer in what the framework stands for - providing the NHS with access to IT services with guarantees of the highest standards of delivery. This is a fantastic achievement by the whole eacs team and is the culmination of a lot of hard work to ensure that we were able to achieve the rigorous vetting standards that were required as part of the process. As a Board it has been a long-term aspiration to increase our Public Sector customer base and this is an important step in this process. As a business we have invested significantly to ensure that that we have the processes and procedures in place to support the projected growth and expansion of the company, and are extremely excited about the opportunity to bring our skills, experience and know-how to a wider audience.
“The NHS SBS Digital Workplace Solutions framework has enabled the NHS and other public bodies to cut through some of the red tape that has previously restricted its access to the newest and most innovative IT services. The simplified process makes it easier for suppliers such as eacs to provide these services, which in turn gives the public sector organisations far greater choice and value for money.”
