We are delighted to announce that our end of day keynote speaker for Optimise 2020 on 10th June, is the enigmatic MATT DAWSON.

With a career CV that is impressive to say the least, he has graced the screens of the UK becoming a household name. From well-known rugby player to a national TV personality. Matt was part of the 2003 Rugby World Cup winning team; achieving 77 caps making him England's most capped scrum-half and is also Team Captain on BBC1’s much-loved ‘A Question of Sport’. Charismatic and entertaining, Matt brings the world of sport to the corporate speaking circuit as an after-dinner host drawing on his experience and drawing on anecdotes from a career of international sporting success, TV stardom, dancing fame (he was Runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing), and an ascending culinary reputation.

Matt promises to be insightful and entertaining in equal measure as he shares some of his anecdotes from sport, lessons in leadership and anything else he cares to share with us on the day.

Topic title: Does your Business have Cloud Bouncebackability?

Topic summary:

Elastic Clouds!  I am sure that everyone associates the phrase with the public clouds model of growing and shrinking usage to meet the demands of the business.  However, a growing number of companies are hoping that it relates to a safety harness they can attach to their applications to help the process of bringing them back on-prem when costs grow, ROI is not met, and the promised flexibility becomes too rigid.  We will be exploring the concept of the Enterprise Cloud.  A multi-cloud platform built with the lifecycle of the application at its core.   You will learn:

  • How can a private cloud offer the same promise as public cloud? (But continue to deliver the ROI and TCO).
  • Why does adopting a multi-cloud strategy matter?
  • What role does Hyperconverged Infrastructure play in this?

About the speaker:

Andy Brewerton is an “old timer” at Nutanix.  He has helped drive Hyperconverged Infrastructure from a disruptive technology to the only way to re-platform the datacenter.  From those early days of “No SAN” marketing to the current “You Decide” messaging!  Now focused on helping Nutanix customers embrace a “multi-cloud” world, Andy is busy with application agility and the concept of running your applications in the right place at the right time.
